Sidewalk Safety is a family owned business with over 15 years of experience and currently services the Central and Northern California region. Our business is built on a foundation of honesty and integrity; always providing our customers with an accurate scope of work. We provide cost effective solutions for tight budgets and can perform as much, or as little work as necessary to meet your needs. Whether it be a big project for a large property management company, or a small job for an individual property, our custom solutions are not a one size fits all approach. The business is run by a Father / Son-in-law team and has recently changed its name from Sidewalk Grinding. As we expanded our business and incorporated, we thought that a new name
centered around our core values would be more appropriate. We now offer more solutions than just concrete grinding and have centered our focus on safety and accessibility. Due to the recent scrutiny over ADA codes we have partnered with the Certified Access Specialist program (CASp) inspectors in your area to ensure that we not only do quality work, but that the work is done to ADA specifications. The added benefit of this comes in the form of tax credits and deductions for access improvements. We are dedicated to expanding our services and no request is too small or large for us to consider. If your request is not within our scope of work, we will do everything we can to find someone that can accommodate your request.
Sidewalk Safety is dedicated to helping land owners, management companies, and municipalities maintain safe walkway environments for pedestrians and disabled persons requiring the use of assisted vehicles. Our approach is to inform you of all trip hazards, ramp violations, and damaged sidewalks on your property that do not meet ADA guidelines. We can also help to improve the look of parking lot spaces with line painting or black topping. This enables you to make informed decisions on which problems to address based on your budget. We carefully inspect your property for ADA code violations in conjunction with our CASp partners, and make recommendations on how we can work together to make your property a safer place for
pedestrians, minimizing the liability on your property. After inspecting your property we can provide you with a certificate of inspection, along with an estimate for improvements, and a property map indicating the specific areas that we recommend work being done on. The certificate of inspection is good for your records and if you would like us to complete the work on your property we can replace the certificate of inspection with a certificate of work completion that can be signed off and approved by a registered CASp inspector. When CASp inspectors are on your property they can offer their services in addition to inspecting our work, which helps you to understand additional code violations that might be present on your premises.
Our goal at Sidewalk Safety is to maintain great working relationships with the property management companies we work with, fostering lasting partnerships. In the past 13 years working in Central and Northern California we have worked with over 50 property management companies. Over half of the individual properties we have worked on use us time and time again as their needs change, or their property ages and repair work needs to be done. We pride ourselves on a culture of trust and reliability and will get the job done within a reasonable time frame, providing quality work that we can be proud of. As the legal landscape has changed over the years it has become increasingly important to protect your assets and adhere to building code and ADA guidelines.
Many of the building code and ADA regulations can be confusing and are subject to periodic change. This is why it is important to partner with experts in the field to help you understand where your property is not up to code, or potential risks to personal injury are present. Our inspection reports are completely confidential, and can be used as defense in a lawsuit, even if Sidewalk Safety does not perform any work on your property. The inspection report will show that as a property owner / manager you are aware of potential hazards on your premises. If you decide to have Sidewalk Safety perform the scope of work, we can schedule a licensed CASp inspector to come out and verify the work, providing a certificate of completion.
