Grinding concrete trip hazards is our specialty, and the foundation of our business. Our goal is to help property owners minimize the risk of trip and fall injuries and lawsuits by eliminating the threats below your feet. One of the most common places to trip is on a paved sidewalk even though it’s supposed to be a smooth surface…this is where the trip hazard poses the most threat. Trip and fall accidents are less likely to happen when we pay close attention to our feet like while hiking, or walking down a flight of stairs. More commonly, we trip and fall when least expecting it because we’re not paying attention.
Trips are frequently caused by obstructions that are difficult to see because they blend into the background or because it is dark. The deadliest combination is a trip hazard at night. Our goal at Sidewalk Safety is to eliminate these hidden threats, mitigate risk to property owners, and to keep people safe while traversing “safe” environments…our sidewalks!
With over 20 years of grinding experience we are the best in the business. We offer two different solutions depending on your needs and budget. Standard work consists of grinding concrete trip hazards on sidewalks and walkways with a drum scarifier to reduce the vertical displacement of the concrete slab. If you need ADA compliant work done we carefully measure each trip hazard height with specialized tools, and then create a graded slope to meet current accessibility standards.
The benefit of performing ADA compliant work is three-fold: injury prevention, protection from shakedown lawsuits, and tax credits and deductions. Businesses can qualify for a tax credit of up to $5,000 and an additional tax deduction of up to $15,000 on work performed for barrier removal and ADA improvements for a total combined savings of up to $20,000.
If you want your trip hazards done right call the experts that have over 20 combined years of experience in the business. We take pride in our workmanship and the quality of our work. Sidewalk Safety is “The Trip Hazard Solution”!
